Root cause of damaged dust collection bag of pulse bag type dust collector

Improper installation or operation of a pulse bag dust collector may cause damage of the filter bag. After analysis based on actual situation of projects, it is found that many filter bags are damaged after half a year of operation, which cause emission concentration fail to meet standard. Causes of filter bag damage are analyzed after stopping the unit for maintenance many times.

Causes of filter bag damage are analyzed after stopping the unit for maintenance many times.
1. Filtering air speed
If excessively high filtering wind speed is selected to seek small volume and low cost excessively during dust collector design, it is easy to cause more operation resistance, frequent dust removing and shortened service life of the filter bag greatly. Filtering wind speed is selected at 0.66 m/min when the dust collector removes no dust. Proper speed range prevents excessively high filtering speed from causing poor impact on the filter bag.
2. Temperature influence
Various filter bag materials have different service lives. After film covering treatment, overall service life of the filter bag material is not lower than 3 years. Allowed operation temperature of fume ranges from 100 to 130℃ and allowed instantaneous temperature of the pulse bag type dust collector can be up to 180℃. When operation temperature is too high, actual temperature of fume is controlled around 160℃, not exceeding instantaneous temperature peak and continuous operation temperature of PTFE and preventing excessively high fume temperature from causing burnt filter bag within a short time. Meanwhile, at excessively low fume temperature, vapor condenses in fume and attaches to the filter bag after passing through, causing its hardening.
3. Blowing abrasion
Excessively high blowing pressure will increase impact force of dust removal airflow on the filter bag, causing scour abrasion; unreasonable blowing interval setting and frequent blowing; disqualified compressed air quality (with oil and water for a long time) will cause hardening of the filter bag.
4. Oil stain attaching
Due to frequent ignition start and low load operation of the boiler, long-term oiling is needed and unburnt oil stain attaches to the filter bag, making the filter bag lose activity gradually and causing serious damage.
